The factor of time

God Speaks was released in June 1955. There is strong circumstantial evidence that Baba was in a hurry to publish God Speaks in the year and month that he did.

Here are some clues to this. See this post God Speaks released in 1958? Baba first asked Charles Purdom to edit the book, but Purdom felt it would take him longer than the time frame Baba wanted it done in. So Baba gave the manuscript to Lud Dimpfl at the Three Incredible Weeks in 1954 for the Sufis to do it, as they had agreed to Baba's speedy time restraint.

Next, very soon after the book's publication in 1955, Baba began talking to Don Stevens about a second edition. He first brought it up in 1958. See this post How Baba wrote the first 8 chapters of God Speaks. This indicates that Baba did not feel he was done to his satisfaction but waited to bring this up, indicating Baba wanted it out in some form in 1955, and that other concerns over details were less important than the time factor.

Baba later asked Francis Brabazon to do a re-edit, but this did not get done.

My conclusion is that Baba had to have his book out, in some form, by that date in 1955.

Two years after the 1955 original publication of God Speaks Baba began to warn of the Dark Cloud he saw coming, which I interpret as some kind of world-wide delusion that was coming. For this see my article The Dark Cloud.

Baba completed the dictation part of the first 8 chapters of God Speaks in Satara 1954. Then immediately gave up the alphabet board. It was on returning from Satara that he gave his Final Declaration in 1954. In 1955 Baba began to talk about the 'factor of time' in his Confirmation

So why did Baba have to hit this time in 1955. He was clearly trying to head something off.

What we now know was happening behind the scenes during this period gives us some clues I think.

If I may sum up what I have been writing from my research in the last few months, it is that the cultural chaos that occurred in the 1960s was being prepared in think tanks in the 1950s, exactly when Baba was writing and publishing God Speaks.

Now flash forward to 1968, keeping in mind Baba's comments about the 'time factor' being adjusted "in order to enable the world to fully absorb the shock of shocks." Baba seemed to being temporarily stemming a tide in 1968. See my post The year of the monkey for this late period of internal work by Baba.

The turbulence of the 1960s is now back, 50 years later. See my post They're back.

Baba wrote God Speaks during a period of external calm, 1953-54. But behind the scenes things were being prepared in think tanks for future turbulence. Behind the scenes the 1950s were a time of methods of social engineering by an intellectual elite with intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic.

Baba's entire life seems to have been a period of hurry up, especially after WWII. His work was enigmatic and public, but seems to have been coordinated with the anti-God element(s) working clear agendas in secret.

All of it is God's work. Part of God's work seems to be his own opposition, that furthers his work. As Baba says about opposition, the further back you pull a bow the farther the arrow flies.

There is some reason that Baba needed God Speaks to be released when it was, and no later. I don't know what it is.
