The rarely heard version of Ave Maria was the final piece of music written by Gibraltarian composer William Gomez. It remains his most famous work. No other recording of Amira singing this song is known to exist.
Amira has described her trances many times. She says she experiences weightlessness, a going 'in' herself, and being transported somewhere distant but very nice. There is no better example of this caught on film than this performance. People say they can literally see her 'return to Earth' at the end.
For many, seeing Amira perform is a religious experience.
Just read this review on Amazon for Amira's first album:
perhaps, the MOST PERFECT recording EVER recorded. this must be given a rating of 10 or beyond. that's taking it as it is....add to it that it's by a nine year old, or a ten year old...whatever age she was at this album...I think ...9.... THEN...it becomes histrionic...borderline miraculous...if actually not miraculous. And, seriously, folks, miraculous is a real consideration with AMIRA...the Catholic theology divinizes Eucharist eaters. Did you notice Gordon on Holland's Got Talent bowing down (in mock adoration) to AMIRA on her first appearance???? He is weird, an possibly on the dark side...but the devils all recognized Jesus when they see him. And if you watch AMIRA on her final winning performance you can see Jesus on the cross...putting out everything He's got...in her. Hey, take a look. Do you see it? So...we have got a real phenomenon on our hands here...and it is just GREAT..... Read the comments page on YouTube...those people are having a religious experience...and I think it is justifiable, completely justifiable.
