Amira first sings her signature song 'O Mio Babbino Caro' followed by 'O Sole Mio' in duet with famous Italian baritone Patrizio Buanne. The venue was Moreletta Auditorium in Pretoria, South Africa. Amira was 12 years old. Patrizio was 37 and at the pinnacle of his career.
After singing 'O Mio Babbino Caro' to resounding applause Amira invites Patrizio on stage. Their short interchange before singing together is in Italian, Afrikaans, and English and has English subtitles. This is the first version with all subtitles.
Amira had previously sung "O Sole Mio" with Paul Potts in Durban, South Africa at the Starlight Pop Opera Concert in 2014. Five months after this version with Patrizio she sang it again with opera singer Ben Heijnen at Nieuwe Kerk in Huizen, Netherlands in December 2016. And last she sang it with well-known Italian opera singer Fabio Armiliato at an International Organization for Diplomatic relations gala in Naples, Italy in 2019.
The mutual affection between Amira and Patrizio is real. The two poignently reunited on stage two years later at the Classics 2018 concert at Sun Arena, Pretoria on June 9 2018.
