What sort of bondage?

"Circumstances compel me to do things which I do not like to do. I am obliged to eat all sorts of things that I have no taste for and keep myself dressed in clothes I have no desire to wear. Oh God! What entanglements! What sort of bondage is this!" (Meher Baba, in a letter to his brother, 1915)

The photo of Meher Baba and the quote by him are from the same time. Although Baba had already been kissed by Hazrat Babajan and met Upasni Maharaj, he had wound up as the manager of a theatrical company in Calcutta at the urging of his mother and the conenctions of his father. The quote is from a letter written by Baba at the time to his brother Behram in Poona.
