Gelukskinders

 
In the above, we see Amira's original trip to South Africa to build her first playground for needy children. She had not yet formed her foundation Gelukskinders, which would happen the following year. In the video below, which appeared on YouTube just yesterday, we see the work Amira's foundation is doing to help children during the lockdown. As I said in my previous post, the lockdown measures in South Africa are some of the severest in the world.
 
BTW, the name Gelukskinders means 'Lucky Children' in Afrikaans. In this short video about her signing her charity into law in November 2014, she explains how she came up with the name.
