Reaction to Amira singing Ave Maria by Gomez
This Brazilion music reactor who goes by the name Zeus, expresses how I feel when I hear Amira Willighagen. This is the only recording of Amira singing this version of Ave Maria by William Gomez, a recently deceased composer. While she sang it in the recent Christmas concert along with the Nijmegen Men's Choir on December 16, video cameras and recorders were strictly forbidden. The concert depicted here, where Amira sings accompanied instrumentally solely by her family members, father on organ (off camera), mother on recorder, older brother on violin, was performed Christmas 2015 at the Canisius Church in Amira's hometown of Nijmegen. The recording was done on an iPhone.
Incidentally, there are many arias named Ave Maria. Amira sings five.
Ave Maria by Bach and Gounod
Ave Maria by Caccini (Sony Masterworks Produced Music Video of Same to accompany her second album)
Ave Maria by Schubert
Ave Maria by Mascagni
Ave Maria by Gomez (above)
William Gomez (1939-2000) was born in Gibraltar. When he retired to his home country after a successful career as a guitarist and classical composer, and after being diagnosed with cancer there, he began to compose again. His final work was his sacred aria Ave Maria. It remains his most famous work.
