Charles Purdom (1883–1965) was Meher Baba's first published biographer. He wrote The Perfect Master: The Life of Shri Meher Baba in 1937, and later The God-Man in 1964. Besides biographies of Baba he wrote the first single-volume edition of Meher Baba's discourses, God to Man and Man to God: The Discourses of Meher Baba in 1955.
Here we see a rare home-movie of his and his wife Lilian's 50th wedding anniversary in 1962 at their home in Welwyn Garden City, England. The little girl is Antoinette, the Purdoms' grand-daughter.
Purdom was also a city planner, economist, and drama critic. His son Edmund Purdom was a well-known British actor.
